SUMMARY:Dumpster Day
DESCRIPTION:The dumpster will be delivered near the corner of Hollen and Yorkshire.We also collect canned goods for the C.A.R.E.S. food pantry at the dumpster location. \n\n\n\nThe dumpster’s typically delivered in the morning\, but the city may deliver it as late as 1 p.m. Neither the LWCA\, nor the volunteers who monitor the dumpster\, have control over the delivery time. We usually send an email alert as soon as it arrives (subscribe to our email alerts). \n\n\n\nWe encourage you to dump\, within the guidelines below\, as soon as you can after delivery. Do not leave materials at the site prior to dumpster delivery. \n\n\n\nIndividuals involved with coordination and supervision of the dumpsters are volunteers — please treat them with respect! We MUST comply with the guidelines below or we risk losing access to this service. If you witness someone breaking the rules\, please remind them of this! \n\n\n\nGUIDELINES \n\n\n\nDo not overload the dumpster — do not fill beyond the top. \n\n\n\nLoad from the back. \n\n\n\nWHAT’S ALLOWED \n\n\n\n\nHousehold trash\n\n\n\nFurniture\n\n\n\nCans\n\n\n\nGlass\n\n\n\nPlastics\n\n\n\nPaper\n\n\n\nCardboard\n\n\n\n\nWHAT’S NOT ALLOWED \n\n\n\n\nYard waste (trees\, tree parts\, etc)\n\n\n\n*Paints\, solvents\, pesticides\, pool chemicals\, acids\, caustics\, gasoline or any other solid/liquid/gaseous substance regulated as hazardous by state or federal laws\n\n\n\nMercury thermometers/thermostats\n\n\n\nSyringes\n\n\n\nFire extinguishers\n\n\n\nPropane tanks\n\n\n\nHelium tanks\n\n\n\nBatteries\n\n\n\nFluorescent light bulbs\n\n\n\nTires\n\n\n\nMetal\n\n\n\nMotorized/non-motorized vehicles\, automotive waste or parts (i.e.\, mopeds\, bikes\, motorcycles)\n\n\n\nConstruction debris including wood\, flooring\, cement\, bricks\, sheetrock – wall materials\, concrete\, roofing\, building materials\, dirt\n\n\n\nWhite goods (appliances) including refrigerators\, freezers\, ovens\, washing machines\, and dryers.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n*See DPW’s website for Hazardous Household Waste disposal opportunities (usually it’s the first Fri/Sat of the month). \n\n\n\nPlease contact any of the board members if you have questions.
